Church in the Market Place, 400 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction
St Joseph’s Church, 12 Albert Street, Edgecliff
Postal vote applications close at 5pm, Friday 13 September 2024
Telephone voting registration and voting opens on Monday 9 September 2024 (Only available to people who are blind or have low vision.)
Voters will also be requested to vote Yes or No to a binding Constitutional Referendum to reduce the total number of Woollahra Councillors from 15 to 9.
Reasons to vote “No”:
-
-
-
- Incomplete information on new boundaries for reduced number of wards, likely to be reduced from 5 to 3
- Less diversity of views on Council through entrenching the Liberal majority and the crowding out of independent and minority party voices
- Less access to Councillors because of decreased representation and likely increase in Councillor workload
- No significant cost savings to Council and no cost-benefit analysis of the consequences of having fewer councillors
